Hi, I go by Tenshi Hana or just Hana online. I am a baby gal or gyaru and have been integreating the sub-culutre into my life for under a year now. This is my journey to see the mistake I make along the way so you don't have to make them!
Yes so as said I am integrating things into my daily life, gyaru can and will take up a lot of effort, time and money. So how do you do it all at once? Well, you don't! I didn't at least, instead I start things off slow day by day and work on them daily. So here is just a step by step of what i am doing to integrate my life into being more and more "Gyaru".
- practice makeup -
I wouldn't recommend doing this every day, but most days I practice one form of makeup. Like, for example, I will do a full face of primer, foundation, concealer and contour. Then after a bit I take it all off for the day. Another day I will just practice my eyeliner skills then take it off after I've let my eyes take a break from being messed with. Keep in mind this is what I do for my sake and what works for me. Take what I say as you will and interpret wha works for you. Anyways yea my skin is super sensitive so after I do my makeup and take it off, my skin is done, so I try to work with that, I also relaized with all the makeup I was doing is that makeup wipes irritate my skin and also because my skin is rough the wipes rip and tear easily. So in the future, I will just use micellar water to wash off the makeup as that works for my family members who have similar skin texture to mine. So main points to this are
- Practice makeup skills, at most once a day
- Keep full makeup looks during the week to a minimum until confident in makeup skills
Main reason as to why I do not wear makeup a lot out side is becuase I go to a highschool and am male, I get laughed at when I do wear makeup and although I know Gyaru and J-fashion lifesytle just come with that, no avoidance. I rather just not, if I was in school for like another year, I'd say "fuck it" and just wear gyaru makeup and fashion, but I am not. I am a senior and going to be graduating in May of 2025. (btw I cannot wait to decorate my cap and show you all!) So yeah I am going to wait to do makeup looks every day until I am out of school and confident in my ability to do so
- Decorating a bit -
like the last one, I do this a bit every day. I love physical media to use as inspiration, so for where I do my make, I put tons of galspo, fashion and make that I printed on my canon printer, and cut out to be on my wall, some of the room is that, some of it is cardboard cut outs of characters, posters of bratz dolls (super gyaru coded imo) and I also put other things on display like my "Super Gal" DVD box set, my fav manga, magazines, and more. All that kind of stuff, I hope to have my whole room super gyaru and to my liking in 2026 of May. So when I turn 18 I want to have a full gyaru room. So yes main points I covered are
- Dedicate to putting effort into my room for at least 15 min a day
- use physical media as inspiration.
- Decorating nails -
This is not something I do daily but I do feel is super important to the gal lifestyle, I have been buying blank nails to then put charms on. I do this whenever I feel like it, just not often because I have yet to get the correct tools and often get glue on my hands. Which is sensory hell for me. Some places to get nail charms are like Amazon, Aliexpress, Taobao, but you probably know that. But I like making personalized stuff so I plan to start getting back into clay art and making clay charms coated in UV resin as to keep the clay charms from not breaking as easily. Onto the core points. I went over
- Decorating blank nails
- Making your own nail charms
I can link some resources of how to make clay charms with UV resin as most resin's are toxic and can be dangerous to work with if not handled correctly
- Final Thoughts -
I am super happy with what i have been doing but if you have some ideas of other things I could be doing just comment, I really want to get better at this and make this my life.
